Tom Richardson

about me

Originally born in country New South Wales, but have lived most of my life in McLaren Vale. Moved to Mount Barker early 2023 where I live with my fiance and our Retriever x Labrador. I enjoy the mix of suburban and regional lifestyle, and being close to vineyards is never a bad thing! Prior to joining CWM, I worked in a small regional financial planning practice for three years, and I enjoy getting to know people from all walks of life.

What do you enjoy most about wealth management?
The ability to provide peace of mind for clients that everything is going to be ok. Particularly when planning for retirement, being able to provide clarity to clients that theu will be able to live the lifestyle they want, and showing them how they can achieve it, is something quite special. I also love that every client has their own story to tell, which helps build a long-term relationship as we work together to achieve personal and financial goals.

What do you love most about being part of Calder Wealth Management?
So far, the welcoming and friendly nature of the team. There's a lot of staff that have been here for many years, which shows there's a good culture and enables long-term relationships with clients..

What would you be doing if you weren't working in wealth management?
I'd like to say a professional soccer player, but my skills (or lack thereof) might have got in the way of that!

What do you love to do outside of work?
I enjoy playing soccer for FC Summit in Mount Barker, catching up with mates on the golf course, and going for walks with our dog. You'll also find me watching Leeds United at various hours of the night/morning.

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?
Building a home in Mount Barker and finishing my university degrees in Accounting and Financial Planning.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
More of a quote than a piece of advice, but "the most important thing is not to win, but to try to win". Having the right attitude and persistence is so important, and eventually you will get the results that mindset deserves.
