I have always had a passion for finance after giving my dad the money to buy my first Telstra shares at the age of 13. I have had experience in accounting, business banking and mortgage broking – which has all helped me with my role as a financial adviser. Personally, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, travelling the world (when I can afford it), playing or watching sport and spending time at the beach. Having a balance between challenging myself and enjoying myself is important to me.
What would you be doing if you weren’t working in Wealth Management?
I would love to be a sports commentator or TV talk show host! Maybe I have a face for radio instead...
How should people think about their wealth?
I think that your wealth is an important part of living a healthy, happy lifestyle. If we can get everything right from our end as your financial adviser, hopefully you can sit back and enjoy yourself without having to worry about living the life that you want to live.
What’s the biggest challenge in wealth management?
The biggest challenge is also an enjoyable one – which is building trust and developing a relationship with a client. Keeping my clients on track with their financial goals by managing the highs and lows is something that I enjoy and am grateful to be able to assist with.
What do you love most about being part of Calder Wealth Management?
I love being part of a team that is focused on helping their clients achieve their financial goals. Everything we do at Calder Wealth Management is about putting the client first, which makes coming to work much more enjoyable!
What quality of yours makes you best suited to what you do?
I put integrity first in everything I do – which is important to help build trust with a client. I also make sure that I give my clients the advice that I would want to be given.
What do you love to do outside of work?
Spending time socialising with family and friends, travelling, the beach, watching movies, sports and reading. I like to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle during the week, and enjoy myself by making cocktails and eating burgers on the weekend...
What’s the most influential book you’ve read?
This is a tough one because there are so many! But I am going to say ‘Man’s Search For Meaning’ by Viktor E Frankl. A great read about dealing with adversity which helps put things into perspective.
What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?
I could say completing my Master’s of Financial Planning Degree in 2017; but instead, I will say that it is the friends and family that I have shared my memorable experiences with.
What do you enjoy most about wealth management?
I enjoy helping clients deal with the constant financial challenges that life presents. Helping them on this journey and making them feel comfortable is why I am an adviser.
