about me

Born in the UK, as a child I moved to Adelaide with my parents and two older brothers back in 1969. I have lived here ever since and proud to call Adelaide home. I am a mother of two children, who are now both adults and I’m blessed to have a 5 year old grandson who has quickly learnt how to wrap his Nanna around his little finger but between you and I, I wouldn’t have it any other way.  I’ve been in the Finance industry for around 12 years, a change in career later in life but one I don’t regret. In my spare time I love hanging out with family and friends. I do have a passion for travel whether it be seeing new places overseas or a road trip through our beautiful country.  I enjoy a great night out listening to live music or a relaxing lunch and a glass of red in one of Adelaide’s many wineries, yes we are very lucky to have so many right on our doorstep.

What do you enjoy most about finance broking?
I love helping people and Finance Broking allows me to do this. There is nothing more satisfying that helping someone achieve their goals, whether that be buying their first home, upgrading their home as their family grows or buying that first investment property. I feel it’s not only an honour but a privilege to be a part of those special moments in their lives.

What’s the biggest challenge?
Things have definitely changed a lot over the years that I have been in this industry but I’ve realised that it’s all about finding the right fit. Working closely with my clients and guiding them to the right lender & loan products is very important. The more we work together the more chance we have of getting it right the first time.

What quality of yours makes you best suited to what you do?
I am passionate about what I do, I know it’s sound a little cliché but it’s true. Finance broking isn’t all about numbers and banks it’s about being there for your clients and building those relationships. Being a mother myself I tend to be a lot more nurturing with my clients. When you ask me to help with you with your finance, I don’t expect you to know what you are doing or understand the process, that’s my job. No banking jargon just an easy to understand process that we can work through together.

What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?
Obtaining my Certificate IV & Diploma in Financial services. I started in the industry in my late thirties and not coming from a banking background I was very proud of myself for changing careers later in life and finding something I really enjoy.

What do you love to do outside of work?
I have two adult children and a gorgeous little grandson that I love spending most of my time with. I also have a large network of friends, I love nothing more than spending the day with my grandson down the local park to hanging out with friends at a winery sampling the local wine and cheese on offer.

How should people think about their Lending?
It’s important to keep up with the lending market and any changes in your situation. It’s not very often the bank will contact you to see if your situation has changed and whether your current loan or interest rate is still suitable. So, it’s up to us to keep on top of that, It’s important to review your home loan every couple of years. You’ll be surprised how much money you can actually save by reviewing your loan regularly.

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
I’m not sure where I heard this but it’s has always stuck in my head.... Live each day like it’s your last and never put off until tomorrow what you can do today.

What is your Career highlight:
I can’t pinpoint one particular career highlight because I’ve had so many and they may not seem like huge highlights to most people but to me it’s those simple things that are the most satisfying like telling a client their loan has been approved after they were declined by another lender. Hearing the excitement in their voice and I’ve even had a few happy tears.... like I said it’s those simple things that make me really enjoy what I do.
